I started Lawrence Pet Friends out of a need to own my own business, but above all else to do something that I am passionate about - and that is animals!
In our house, we have four pets that own us...
- Cosmo, a 5 year old Bull Terrier who is the inspiration for our logo design
- Marley, our 14 year old Black Lab mix who we rescued from the streets of Topeka
- Gertie, our 11 year old very smart, but painfully sensitive, Australian Shepard and
- Morticia, our 14 year old loveable, hugging black cat
I believe I have found my true calling in life. I have a very special place in my heart for all animals and finally have a way to show it.
Insurance/Bonding
Lawrence Pet Friends is fully insured and bonded. Not only will we take wonderful care of your beloved pets, but you know you can trust us to come into your home. We are insured through Business Insurers of the Carolinas and our dishonesty bond is issued through St. Paul Travelers.
Credentials
First and foremost, I LOVE animals and care deeply about how they are treated. I am completely and totally trustworthy. My experience in running two different dental offices for the past nine years has provided me with invaluable insight into running a successful business and understanding the importance of excellent customer service. I am a member of PSI - Pet Sitters International and I am actively pursuing the distinguished honor of PSI accreditation.
How do I prepare my home for Lawrence Pet Friends?
- Make sure we have a phone number where you can be reached.
- Provide the pet sitter with a house key or garage door opener.
- Clean food and water dishes before leaving.
- Adjust the thermostat to keep the house comfortable for the pet during your absence. In warm weather, a closed up house can get dangerously hot in a short period.
- Leave a list of phone numbers in case we need to contact service or maintenance companies, while you are away.
- Tell us of any household areas that are off limits to your pets or to us. Secure access to those areas before leaving home.
- Tell the pet sitter about all health problems your pet may have....major or minor.
- Provide written verification that your pet is up to date on vaccinations.
- Make sure your dog's collar fits correctly if we'll be going for a walk.
- Make a list of your pet's favorite hiding places. This will prevent us from worrying if your pet is not where expected.
- Provide your own preferred method of flea control, even if your pets are currently flea free. Fleas multiply rapidly and can become a problem quickly.
